Jacques
came to us from Louisiana so he likely gets his french name honestly.
:-) He is under a year old, neutered and heart worm negative. He is
crate trained however therein lies the crux of why he is now with us.
His previous owners were crating him 22 hours a day with only the
occasional potty breaks. This is just not acceptable for any dog,
but especially a young pup. However Jacques does not seem to have
suffered any lasting damage from this. He is fit and healthy (though he
came to us with a raging case of worms) and has developed well
physically. He is also emotionally balanced. He is a happy, easy going
guy. He can be timid or even a touch fearful sometimes, but this will
pass as he learns to trust his new environment and gets used to his new
life. He gets along well with all the other dogs here and we are told
he lived in a home with multiple pets including cats, dogs, ferrets and
birds. He travels well and made the trip from LA here to OR just fine.
He is a very affectionate dog and will gladly sleep in your lap or
right next to you on the bed. He adores cuddles, hugs, and pets. As you
can see from the photos, he chooses to sleep in one of the open crates
sometimes. But his favorite spot is in my recliner which is next to the
couch. That way he can put his head right next to mine when I fall
asleep on the couch. He is housebroken, however he is still young and
if left alone lose in the house for too long, he can have accidents.
We will post additional photos of Jacques as time goes by, so check
back often.
