Casper
was a puppy mill reject. Because she was deaf they did not want her. We
purchased her through a broker that handles the reject from a
particular puppy mill so she would not be used as breeding stock or be
euthanized, which were pretty much her only options at that point.
We have started
working on her training already. We will post regular updates here. As
of now
we do know that she is very affectionate and loves to get hugs and
kisses, that she has all the usual "problems" that puppies her age
have, chewing on everything, etc.. In short she is a typical, normal
puppy.
Update 1/6/04 -
Casper is a happy, energetic puppy. She has taken very well to her new
living situation and shows a high level adaptability. She is crate
trained and will not potty in her crate. Her potty training is not so
good when left loose in the house yet. But she is doing very well for
her age. She is constantly active and playing but is not destructive or
hyper. She has learned to love cuddling and regularly comes over to be
picked up. She loves to sleep in your lap. All in all she is a normal
well adjusted, outgoing happy puppy.
