Bo
is an delightful dog who desperately wants a home of his own. He is
older, but very lively and active. Bo can hear and see just fine, but
he has a genetic condition that lead to his legs being a little
deformed. It doesn't affect him at all really, but he looks a little
different. His legs are shorter than normal and the front
legs are bowed a bit. As I say, it does not affect him at all though
and he is a very healthy dog overall.
Update 8/21/07 - Bo is a sweet, sweet boy who really does not show his
age at all. You would never know he was as old as he is. He runs and
plays with all the other dogs and has no trouble keeping up with them.
Bo is very people oriented and wants a special person of his own, he
would prefer to be with people than with other dogs and follows me
around all the time. When I am not in his area he stands at the fence
and watches me. When I am working on the other side of the fence from
him he will whine wanting me to come get him. He is fine off leash out
here in the boonies, but in town he is a runner and will take off if
given any chance. He is otherwise well behaved and trained. He is very
anxious to please and that makes him very easy to train as well as very
compliant and obedient. He is a dominant dog and can have issues with
other dominant dogs, especially intact males. He would be best as an
only dog or with a submissive female, though he can get along with
other males. It's not that he is bad with other dogs, he currently
lives with 8 other Danes, including several males who have had dog
aggression issue in their past. As I sit typing this, Bo is standing at
the back fence watching me through the back windows, giving me that
please come get me look. Someone will get an excellent companion in Bo.
He will give tons of love and make you the center of his world. Please,
please do not pass this sweet guy over just because of his age. He is
showing no signs of his age at this point and is as strong and robust
as dogs half his age. And he has a lot of love to give.
